What Did You Talk to God about Today?

Training Your Inner Voice

DOES YOUR INNER VOICE HAVE NEGATIVE THINGS TO SAY ABOUT YOU?

EVERYONE has uninvited voices or feelings that say things like:

You won’t succeed.

You aren’t good enough.

You aren’t smart enough.

There’s a multitude of other REALLY MEAN things your inner voice will say! Thankfully, even though the voices exist, we DON’T have to listen to them!

Are you ready to mute the voice of lies and turn up the volume on TRUTH?

HERE IS HOW TO FILTER AND QUIET NEGATIVE THOUGHTS:

Ask yourself, Is this something I would say to a friend?

If it’s too mean to say to a friend, it’s too mean to say to yourself, so DON’T say it or even think it!! The way we women talk to ourselves is appalling! We would NEVER entertain a friendship with someone else who put us down so much! Treat yourself like a friend, be nice to yourself!

Ask yourself, “Is this something God would say about me?”
I filter EVERYTHING through God. The words God speaks over my life will ALWAYS be life-giving, not life-depleting. If the words you are hearing are not life exalting and encouraging, they are from the father of lies, not the giver of life. If the words aren’t from God, they don’t deserve your time. Stop wasting precious time by listening!

Ask God to reveal true words about yourself through His word. Find Bible verses that are uplifting and encouraging and write these verses on index cards that you can keep in your purse or some other visible place in your house, workplace, or car for you to read over and over until you believe them!

Tell yourself OUTLOUD the OPPOSITE of what your inner voice is telling you!

Words have power. The more you say it, the more you believe it, the more you will BECOME it! If the voice inside your head says you can’t, find a mirror and tell yourself you can!

Read scripture out loud that says the opposite of what you’re telling yourself. If the voice in your head is saying that you aren’t loveable, speak out loud:

1 John 3:1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God.

If the voice in your head says you can’t succeed, speak out loud:

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Declare the real truth about yourself and you will become that truth! You are unique, you are special, you are you. THOSE are words of truth 🙂
