The Story Behind The Stories
What Did Your Dinosaur Do Today?
Dedicated to Brigden,
the boy who named me mommy
Initially, I intended the publication to be solely for my son’s enjoyment. This book would serve as a fulfillment of my dream of writing a children’s book: a dream that reached as far back as my own childhood.
That intention changed as I held the first printed book in my hands and experienced my son’s reaction to reading it for the first time. In an instant, I knew God had bigger plans for this book than I did. The words I had written to reach ONE person, HE intended for many more. My son asked me to read it repeatedly that first night. Each time I read the book, I imagined a mom I was yet to know, experiencing it with her own child for the very first time. My heart continues to swell with love each time I watch a parent and child read this kid’s book together.
A dream that started in my heart now has arms to deliver a hug to each reader. My prayer is that this book will help you connect with your child, as you create memories that will forever reside in your hearts—while having a giggle or two along the way.

What Did You Talk to God About Today?
Dedicated to all the children of the world
As a mom and an author, I realize the impact a book can have on a child. In writing this book, I sought to not only impact a childhood, but an entire lifetime.
This book is for “all the children of the world.” My prayer is that each reader will see themselves among the pages and have a desire to “talk to God.” I can’t wait for you to see yourself in the pages. I can’t wait for your child to talk to God!
A better you (in your marriage)
A few years ago, I knelt in a pile of tears on my front porch at midnight in the middle of winter. My husband had driven off in anger from a fight over a little thing that became a big thing. I was numb. Numb to the cold, numb to the pain of a marriage that was nothing like I expected. It was at that moment that God met me. He offered me a way to a better marriage, irrespective of my husband’s actions. I experienced hope and peace as I realized that God could empower me to approach situations according to His standard, regardless of the trigger.
As I let the Holy Spirit and the Word of God direct my actions in my marriage, I’ve watched my husband change. He is following by example, whether he realizes it or not. We still have our moments, but they are fewer and farther between. Our neighbors no longer receive routine shows.
I wrote this book because I needed it. I need this book to refer to when things happen in my marriage, to remind me how God instructs me to handle them. I need this book so I can be intentionally Christlike toward my husband.
When I treat my marriage as God instructs, the heaviness is replaced with lightness every time. The same can happen to you.
Why did I write a book on marriage? You have no idea how many times I have asked myself that same question. The answer? God uses broken people to build His kingdom. In the Bible, God consistently chose the least likely candidate. So, here I am—a least likely candidate with a willing heart to partner with God to make my marriage better, and yours too.
