What Did You Talk to God about Today?

Help for your Busy Seasons of Life

What if you could feel focused and refreshed during a busy season instead of exhausted and grumpy? It is possible!

❤️HERE IS HOW❤️

Align your mind with the way God wants you to view a busy season.

Are you familiar with the story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10:38-42?
It is a story of a very busy lady, Martha, and her not so busy sister, Mary.

Martha invited Jesus to her house.
Once He arrived Mary sat down at Jesus’ feet
while Martha continued to walk around being “busy”. Sound familiar?

Martha asked Jesus to make her sister stand up and help, but Jesus said no to the request. Jesus explained that Mary had chosen the “important thing” (being present with Jesus).
Jesus said in verse 41 Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things but only one thing is necessary. Mary has made the right choice and it will not be taken away from her.

Jesus refused to take Himself away from Mary for the sake of the completion of “many tasks”.
How many things, memories, or interactions are being “taken away” from you due to your devotion to your “many tasks” during a busy season?

The “many tasks” Martha was worried and upset about were nothing compared to the
PERSON she had sitting at her table!

The “many tasks” you have during a busy season are nothing compared
to the people you have sitting at YOUR table.

God wants you to put aside the worry of “many tasks” in exchange for a “task” that is necessary- being present with the people at YOUR table.

HERE IS HOW TO ALIGN YOUR MIND WITH GOD’S INTENTION
FOR A BUSY SEASON

Set an intention to be PRESENT with the people at your table

Mary intentionally set the “many tasks” aside to spend time with someone she loved.
YOU are able to do the same thing for those YOU love!

The “tasks” you do during the busy season should be filtered through this intention.
Keep reading for a game plan to make that happen!👇

Make a list of the “many tasks”
you have to do
Examine the list. Which tasks allow you to be most present with those at your table?
What tasks can you cross off?
Which ones are no longer important?
Are there things you are keeping simply because
they are expected?
Which tasks would you be relieved to say goodbye to?

Make a new list of tasks that WILL serve your intention
Is there a way to simplify these tasks to allow you more time to be present with the people at your table?
You don’t have to cook every meal.
What about paper plates?
Enlist help with set up or tear down!
Delegate! Ask for help!

Lay your to-do list at the feet of Jesus
Ask God to reveal if there is anything that needs to be further removed or edited.
Pray for favor over the tasks listed. Ask God to help you complete them efficiently and effectively. Ask God to lift the weight of the burden these tasks might carry.

Don’t forfeit your time with Jesus
In seasons of busyness, it is easy to let spending time with God take a back burner to other tasks.
However, busy season benefit from you having
a close relationship to God!
Read your Bible! Spend time in prayer!
Listen to His voice!

❤️May you be known at your table for your Mary heart despite your “many tasks”.

My Prayer for You:
Dear Lord you see the mom reading this.
Let her sense your love for her at this very moment.
Let her know you long for her to take time to simply be with you instead of letting busyness fill her days.
Help her to remember that the completion of her
“many tasks” will never compare to the satisfaction found in being present with you and with the people
you have gifted to her.
Help her to let go of what isn’t important
so that she can cling more tightly to what is.
Give her excitement about the joy and fulfillment that she will experience as she intentionally aligns her mind with yours for a busy season.
Amen
